The other day I went to Subway for a healthy lunch. As I went to pay for my veggie sub I noticed that the cashier had put my meal into a platic bag.I started to think about how that plastic bag wouldn't decompose for another 500 years in a compost pile. It'll take me about 5 minutes to get home and take my sandwhich out of the bag, and throw it away. However that bag will still be around when my children's great grandchildren are here, and even beyond that. Think about all the places you recieve plastic: in the grocery store, the mall, whenever you purchase any item at a store, chinese take-out boxes, bottles, and packages. It's time to start being a better consumer. Be the eco-nut who carrys a canvas bag or backpack everywhere you go. Ask companies if it's really necessary to shrink wrap the item, surround it in bubble wrap, and then put inside a plastic bag. With enough voices, you can change anything you set your mind to.
